The question arises that what size of Casablanca ceiling fan should you buy for your home? If your room where you want to install a ceiling fan has the longest walls of 12 feet or less, use a 36-inch or smaller fan. If the longest wall is 12-15 feet long, you should choose 44-48 inch fan for that room. Lastly, if your room wall is the longest one that is, 15 feet, you need a larger fan for it that is, 52-inch.
If you have a flat ceiling:
Hang your ceiling fan using a standard downrod
If your ceiling is angled:
- You need a longer downrod which you can buy separately.
- If the angle of ceiling is more than 34, you will need an angled mounting for this purpose (sold separately).

How to Install a Casablanca Ceiling Fan
Read the Casablanca ceiling fan installation instructions before you get started. Make sure that you have done the proper research to do that. When you are ready to start the installation process, the first thing you need to do is to turn off the main breaker. Use the wire tester to check the electricity whether it is running through the line or not.
After shutting down the power, get rid of the existing fixture from the ceiling. If the existing box that the fixture is mounted to is of plastic, change it with a steel box.
Installation of a Casablanca fan is not rocket science but it requires enough time to complete the task. It depends on the fan type and your experience as well.
- Firstly, Secure the bracket to the ceiling electrical box with the help of mounting screws.
- After doing so, assemble Casablanca ceiling fan and attach blades.
- Pull the wires down through the canopy, downrod and other trim.
- Insert the rod into the housing.
- Secure the downrod to the housing with the connector pin and counter pin
- Tighten the set screws on the side of the downrod.
- Lift the assembled unit to the mounting bracket. You may need an extra pair of hands to do that.
- Connect the white, green and black wires in the ceiling box.
- If your fan has a light kit, attach both remaining wires to the remaining hot wires in the box.
- Secure the wire connectors with the help of electrical tape.
- Tuck the wires into the electrical box.
- Seat the canopy and secure it with the screws that came with the package.
- After securing the motor, mount the fan blades with the screws and washers that came with the package.
- Follow instructions for the installation of the light.
